The McCormick Group is pleased to have assisted DirectWomen in the hiring of Christina Knowles as Executive Director.
Christina Knowles is a leading voice on gender equality and issues affecting women and girls. She was named as one of Massachusetts’ 100 most influential people by Campaign and Elections Politics Magazine. Most recently, Christina was the inaugural Executive Director of the Boston Women’s Workforce Council where she worked on closing the gender-based wage gap in the workforce through The Boston Women’s Compact, a first-in-the nation public-private partnership between Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh and the businesses of the Greater Boston Area.
DirectWomen is a national non-profit that works to increase the representation of women lawyers on corporate boards. Twenty-two percent of alumnae serve on at least one large corporate board. DirectWomen hosts the Board Institute, Sandra Day O’Connor Board Excellence Award Luncheon, Annual Alumnae Conference, and many regional programs. Founded in 2007 as a project of the American Bar Association, DirectWomen maintains an important strategic partnership with the ABA’s Commission on Women in the Profession and with Catalyst, as well as numerous corporate sponsors.
