The McCormick Group’s nationally recognized Government Affairs Practice now has a presence in Texas!

TMG’s efforts in Houston will be led by Saadia Sultan who has more than 20 years of experience in law and government affairs, particularly focused on the energy industry. She has served in senior government affairs positions with Exxon and BHP. During this time, Sultan developed high-level networks with the U.S. government, think tanks, nonprofits, trade associations, and business councils among other organizations.

Sultan has an expanded network beyond the oil and gas sector. She is the current Houston executive director for Asian Americans in Energy, Environment, and Commerce (AE2C), a member of the Houston Committee on Foreign Relations, and the Houston affiliate of The Council on Foreign Relations.

Her executive recruiting experience includes engagements focused on energy, environment, infrastructure, healthcare, education, aerospace, and defense.

“We’re so happy to have someone with deep government affairs experience in both Washington and Texas join our team,” said Steve Nelson, Executive Principal with TMG’s Law & Government Affairs practice. “Saadia brings us a broad range of expertise and contacts, both of which are necessary in today’s dynamic Texas market,” he added.

TMG has been ranked by Forbes Magazine among the top executive search firms in America and is the largest independent firm in the Nation’s Capital. For nearly all of its 46 years TMG has had a significant Government Affairs practice, with particular expertise, working with every type of organization, including companies, trade associations, law firms, and lobbying firms. TMG is particularly known for its recruitment of such key government officials, including Cabinet officials, Congressmen and Senators, high-level Hill staffers, and high-level agency officials.

Notable placements include former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge, former congressman, former Health and Human Services Secretaries Alex Azar and Tommy Thompson, former Congressman Charlie Dent (R-PA), and John Morton, the former Director of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

TMG also provides a wide range of consulting services. Those services range from compensation surveys to reputation and perception analyses.
