Deborah Page, McCormick Group Principal of Technology and Security, spoke at the National Conference of Minority Cybersecurity Professionals held on March 23rd and 24th. This first-ever conference by the International Consortium of Minority Cyber Professionals (ICMCP) focused on the public, private, academic, and legislative components necessary for engineering the pipeline of diverse pracitioners critical to addressing the cross-industry cybersecurity skills shortage. Held at the Washington Plaza Hotel, it was attended by over 300 people and featured lectures, networking events, cocktail receptions, a gala dinner, and awards ceremony. It also drew cybersecurity executives from around the nation, including the Chief Information Security Officers from Comcast, Wells Fargo, and the National Football League, as well as the Chief Security Officer from Cisco, and Chief Technologist from Booz Allen Hamilton.
Deborah Page, who was elected to the ICMCP Executive Leadership, represented The McCormick Group by speaking at the lecture “Landing the BIG Cyber Job – Recruiters Perspective”. She also received the “Director’s Award” for her work as Co-Chair of the ICMCP Membership Committee.
ICMCP is a non-profit association launched to help bridge the ‘great cyber divide’ that results from the ongoing under-representation of minorities in the fast-growing field of cyber security. The ICMCP tackles this ‘divide’ with scholarship opportunities, technical training programs, innovative outreach, mentoring and networking programs targeting minority cyber security professionals worldwide, and by promoting academic and technical excellence in its tradecraft.
