TMG’s monthly study of lateral moves in Texas revealed 14 partner and counsel moves in December, down from 29 in November 2024. This number is also down compared to December 2023 when there were 17 moves.
Six of December’s moves occurred in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, 5 in Houston, 2 in Austin and 1 in San Antonio. All but one of the movers came from private practice with the one coming from in-house.
There was one group move in December, a Labor & Employment/Litigation group in Dallas which moved from Carter Arnett Bennett & Perez PLLC to BakerHostetler.
Five of the 14 lawyers (36%) were women, with three entering as partners. That compared to 4 of the 9 men who joined their new firms as partners.
