Reading Lateral Tea Leaves: A study by Northern Virginia-based lawyer recruiting firm the McCormick Group found Chambers-rates lawyers are moving firm to firm less than they had in previous years. Of almost 900 lawyers in the Chambers D.C. rankings, 23 changed firms in 2015, compared with 34 the year before. The difference may be in part due to the number of mergers the city had in 2014, with Dow Lohnes, Patton Boggs and Bingham McCutchen all joining other firms, the study’s author, Steve Nelson said.
