TMG’s monthly study of lateral moves in Texas revealed 29 partner and counsel moves in November, up from 17 in October 2024. This number is also up compared to November 2023 when there were 13 moves.
Twelve of November’s moves occurred in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, 10 in Houston, 4 in Austin and 3 in San Antonio. All but one of the movers came from private practice with the one coming from in-house.
There were two group moves in November. One was an Intellectual Property group in Houston which moved from Bochner IP to Brown Rudnick. The other involved a Corporate Energy group in Dallas which moved from Winston & Strawn to Jones Day.
Seven of the 29 lawyers (24%) were women, with five entering as partners. That compared to 14 of the 22 men who joined their new firms as partners.
