TMG’s monthly study of lateral moves in Texas revealed 24 partner and counsel moves in June, up from 23 from May. Overall, the Texas lateral market has remained steady over the past few months.
Fifteen of those moves occurred in Houston, with nine in Dallas. All came from other law firms.
One group move was reported during the month—a move of five Public Finance partners from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe to Jackson Walker. Other firms reporting multiple moves:
- Arnold & Porter (Houston)
- Clifford Chance (Houston)
- Kirkland & Ellis (Dallas)
Nine of the 24 lawyers (37.5%) were women, with all coming in as partners. Thirteen of the 15 men joined their new firms as partners.
As a result of the aforementioned group move, Public Finance was the leading practice area represented, with five practitioners. Other active practice areas included:
