The McCormick Group has been retained by the Commission’s Prince George’s County Planning Board to recruit a progressive executive leader to take on the challenging and exciting position of Director, Prince George’s County Planning Department. The Director is appointed by, reports to, works directly with, and serves at the pleasure of the Commission’s Prince George’s County Planning Board.
The Director will lead a team of more than two hundred passionate, first-in-class professionals who are striving to accomplish the Department’s mission. The work program includes:
- Encouraging Physical Growth and Managing Development in Compliance with the new 2022 Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Regulations
- Focusing Planning Efforts as outlined in Plan Prince George’s 2035
- Managing an Extensive Program for Reviewing Public Facility Proposals
- Overseeing Countywide Programs to Protect the Environment and Preserve Historic Properties
- Guiding a Fair and Reliable Regulatory Process for About 400 Projects Each Year
- Providing strategic leadership and general administration for the Department’s organizational units, including but not limited to planning, human resources, and legislative services.
