TMG Consultant Saadia Sultan has been appointed by US Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm to serve on the National Petroleum Council. The Council is a self-funded advisory body to the Secretary of Energy whose members represent all sectors of the oil and natural gas industries or related interests. Created by President Truman in 1946, the Council provides essential advice, information, and recommendations on matters related to oil and natural gas and the oil and natural gas industries. The Council membership of approximately 200 persons is selected and appointed by the Secretary of Energy.
Saadia has had a rich career in the energy industry having worked in public and government affairs with both Exxon Mobil Corporation and BHP Billiton. She has also been involved in other signature energy initiatives and organizations including her current role as head of the Houston chapter of Asian Americans in Energy, the Environment and Commerce (AE2C).
